The city of Cluj-Napoca is situated in the heart of Transylvania. There is direct access to the city by car or by train, ensuring its connectivity with the main Romanian cities and the regional centers.
Regular flights schedule through the International Airport of Cluj-Napoca (http://airportcluj.ro/). The airport is located on the European drive way E 576, 10 kilometers east of the city commercial center and 12 kilometers from the C.F.R railway. Direct flights are accessible from more and more cities of Europe. External flights to Cluj-Napoca are available from the following countries (cities):
Several bus, tram and trolleybus routes connect city's main areas and tourist attractions. The public transportation system runs between 5:00am and 11:15pm. Tickets must be purchased beforehand and validated in the ticket-stamping machine upon boarding. Tickets are interchangeable for all three forms of transport with the exception of express buses.
Traveling from Airport to UTCN
To travel from the "Avram Iancu" Airport to Faculty of Automation and Computer Science, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN) you may use the bus or the taxi.
The simplest way to travel is by taxi. The taxi cost is about 25 Lei (~6 EUR), but 35 Lei (~8 EUR) in the night. The distance is about 8.5 km, and takes 15 mins (in the night), and 30 mins (in the daytime). Taxi station is just in front of the arriving terminal. The bus station is in front of the airport, on the street, to the right. Take the bus number 5. Bus tickets are available in the bus station at the automat or at a ticket office. The cost is 2 Lei (~0.5 EUR).
